Hey beautiful people! Back at it again with another blog post! šš½ This oneās a goodieee! So itās officially that time of the year, the start of a new season and your wardrobe needs a little revamp. Autumn/winter clothes can almost be put away (hold on to a few light jackets though, you know how the English weather is) and you can finally start digging out your spring/summer clothes. As youāre doing that, itās probably also very wise to get rid of some items that you no longer need in your wardrobe. A little spring cleaning. Now, I know, if youāre a clothes hoarder, this is probably such a daunting task but trust me, having an organised wardrobe of clothes you ACTUALLY need, makes styling so much easier. So to help you with your spring cleaning, I bring you ā5 things you donāt need in your wardrobe.ā Letās get it!!
Clothes that don’t fit
Now I know we all do this, buy clothes in sizes either too big or small for us, in hopes that we will one day either lose weight or gain weight to fit them. Sis… let it go! In one of my earlier posts, I spoke about living in the moment, rather than saving clothes for ifs, whens and hows. Life is literally too short to be keeping clothes that donāt fit. Gift it to someone that is that size, Iām sure theyāll appreciate it.
Clothes you haven’t worn for years
I do this thing, yearly when I do my spring cleaning, I ask myself āHave you worn this in the past year?ā And āDo you see yourself wearing this in the next year?ā If the answer to both of these questions is ānoā then I get rid of the item! Simple as that! No ifs, no buts no maybes. You just have to be brutally honest with yourself.
Outdated trendy items
For someone that doesnāt like trendy clothes, Iāve dabbled in a lot of trendy items this year! But best believe that I feel no way about parting from trendy items once they become outdated. Thatās the beauty of trendy items, theyāre not supposed to be life long staple pieces. Youāll be doing your wardrobe a disservice, if itās mainly filled with trendy clothes. So I think itās time you get rid of those bright coloured plimsolls you had in secondary school and those thick wedge heels you rocked throughout college/uni, okuurt!
Torn, ripped or damaged items of clothing
These items are literally screaming to be replaced or gotten rid of but yet we still hold on to them. I donāt know about you but my excuse for holding on to damaged clothes is that I just wonāt find the perfect replacement, when really and truly, I havenāt even given myself a chance to. Let go of those items, and Iām sure a better one will come along.
Sentimental pieces
Ohhhh this ones gonna hurt a couple peopleās feelings but it has to be said. We often harbour a lot of āsentimental itemsā in our wardrobes that we donāt even make any use of but still keep due to the feelings we have attached to them. Sis…. let it go! Trust me the feelings/memories are not gonna go with the items lmao. Last year, I finally got rid of my prom dress and my secondary school blazer. Pls ask me why I kept them in my wardrobe for 6 years without even touching them? They were just there, taking up space in my already small wardrobe. And guess what? When I finally got rid of them, I didnāt lose all my secondary school memories and I still remember my prom night but now I have more space in my wardrobe lmaooo.
Iām sure as you were reading this, a couple of items that you no longer need in your wardrobe, popped up in your mind. If you still need some more convincing… Iām only gonna say this one last time, Sis… let it go! Btw “sis” is a gender neutral term like “guys” or “bruv”, so all my male readers should not feel some type of way.

I completely agree with you, we keep so many things we don’t need! Especially those sentimental pieces, I think I still have that pink kid jacket my grandma made for me haha

Personally, I would keep the jacket because you grandma made it and I’m pretty sure it holds a special place in your heart, but we do keep a lot of sentimental things that aren’t really even that important. Thank you so much for reading this post love xx really appreciate it
