Happy Sunday guys!! Hope you guys are having a wonderful day 💞 Look at your girl, being consistent or whatever!! 2 consecutive posts!! Yasss we’re on a roll 💃🏽
So today, I want to start this new series called ‘Styling on a budget.’ Get it? Styling on a budget, balling on a budget? Lmao 😂 I love a good word play! So I’ve been told that I have the eye for a good bargain, so with styling on a budget, I will be sharing with you some of my pearls of wisdom, hints and tips on how to navigate the world of style without breaking the bank. Autumn is fast approaching! And you’re probably looking to revamp your wardrobe. So today, we’re going to learn how to online shop like a pro. Let’s get it!!!
First Things First, Examine Your Wardrobe
A lot of times we don’t even know exactly what we have in our wardrobes and we usually end up buying items similar to what we already own. So give your wardrobe a thorough check and make a list of items that are outdated or damaged that need replacing and essential items that your wardrobe is lacking – emphasis on ESSENTIAL.
Have A Budget
So now that you have an idea of the items you need, you need to give yourself a budget of what you’re willing to spend on these items. Some call it being frugal, I call it being smart with money. The best way to do this is by giving yourself a monthly clothing budget and sticking to it! Obviously, you don’t always have to max out your monthly budget. Buying clothes just for the sake of buying is not the smartest move.
Avoid Scrolling Through Shopping Sites Out Of Boredom
I’m not going to lie, I do this A LOT! So I know that this is not an easy task but if you can avoid it, please do! To get the best out of your online shopping experience, you need to be intentional with it, having a plan and sticking to it. If you are going scroll out of boredom, use your incognito tab. That way, alluring clothing adverts are less likely to pop up next time you’re browsing the web.
Stay Sale Savvy
Being in the know of when your favourite shop is having a sale, puts you at an advantage when it comes to saving your cointtts. Nothing hurts me more than finding out an item I just bought is on sale for like half the price. The best way of staying sale savvy is by following your favourite stores on their socials and by being signed up to their newsletter, you’ll have firsthand access to sale dates. Doing this also comes with the temptation of spontaneous spending, but where there’s willpower there’s a way! Lmaooo I’m really on a roll with these word plays today 😂😭😂
Discount Codes
I really don’t remember the last time I paid full price for an item of clothing. UNiDAYS has fully spoilt me! If you’re a student, UNiDAYS and your student cards are your best friends. Take good advantage of them! If you are not a student, I’m sure you have younger siblings and cousins that are students, this is when they become useful for you 😂😂 use them! Create new accounts, so you can always get the first time customer discount! Keep that “20% discount next time you shop” voucher. Trust me, every little helps.
Size charts and feedback
One of the down sides of online shopping is the inability to actually feel and try on clothes before purchasing. So most of the time we’re just going out on a limb and hoping for the best. This is where size charts and customer feedback comes in. These two are useful in aiding informed decision making and therefore reduce the stress that comes with returning items.
Free Next Day Delivery For A Year
So this is my last tip and is probably the most important! I’m sure we’ve all felt that stabbing pain in your heart when you see how much you have to pay for delivery. Save yourself the hurt and get the free next day delivery for a year! Only for your favourite clothing stores that you know you frequently purchase from. This is such a great investment and saving strategy that your future self will be thankful that you made.
Outfit Details
This outfit was brought to you courtesy of online shopping, I got these items a while back so I couldn’t find links to them but it’s a simple outfit that can be replicated easily.

Very useful advice Ore. I cloth shop randomly (in stores)…I mean I’m a guy, and first online shopping experience was a good looking jeans turning out to be skinny on my legs.
