How To Incorporate Several Trends Into One Look

Wow so it’s been over 2 months since my first post! I really should be ashamed of myself! I am so sorry I kept you guys waiting so long for my second post! No! I haven’t forgotten you guys, your girl has just been trying to get her life together. So much has happened in the last 2 month, from weddings to starting pre-reg to graduation! In between all that I was able to squeeze a shot with an amazing photographer, be sure to follow her instagram page @biggiesnaps_. With that being said, let’s crack on with the post!

Now, I don’t know about you but personally I think this summer has been the summer of trends upon trends! Some good and some not so good! Usually, I would advise to stay away from trends as they are never long lasting, but I have to admit that a lot of the trends this summer caught my attention – in a good way that is. So today, we’re just gonna delve into how to incorporate several trends into one look without looking tacky.

Pop of colour blazer!

We saw the rise of this trend towards the end of summer/ early autumn last year. Zara brought out this really gorgeous mustard colour double breasted blazer, that everyone and there momma had! I’m still so bummed that I didn’t get my hands on them, but your girl didn’t have enough cointtss. Since then, so many different brands have brought out their own versions in a variety of colours from mint green to yellow. Earlier in the summer, Zara brought out this pink double breasted blazer, I just HAD to get it! Luckily, I was able to get it during the Zara sales for a discounted price. A pop of colour blazer is something everyone should have in their wardrobe. Not only does it brighten up your outfit and will definitely get you noticed in the crowd, it makes it seem as though you put a lot of thought into your outfit, when really all you did was put on a blazer. Mules, Mules and more Mules!!!

The mule trend has been around for a good minute now. I really don’t know why it took me so long to get on the bandwagon! These Missguided mules are to die for! They add just that perfect bit of an edge to an outfit. They also do them in a lovely nude/stone colour that I will be getting my hands on very soon. They are definitely NOT the most comfortable shoes but what’s beauty without a little bit of pain?!

Animal Print

Animal Print!

If I was given pound for every time I saw an animal print item of clothing this summer, your girl would not be broke! Lmaoo! From leopard print (my personal fave) to tortoise shell print to snakeskin print. If you haven’t read my last post, be sure to check it out, as I incorporated animal print into that look. Now we all know that animal prints make a statement all by themselves, and combined with the pink blazer, it might have been a bit too much. So I decided to incorporate these prints in my accessories (shoes and earrings), where they are noticeable but yet very subtle. I decided to spread them apart to avoid them clashing. The earrings are from new look, while the shoes are from missguided.

Mum jeans!

Last but not least, we have the Mum jeans or boyfriend jeans. If you’ve seen me recently, you’d know that I basically live, sleep and breathe Mum jeans. The comfort they provide is second to none. The slouchy, casual feel these jeans bring, further gives this look the effortless, ‘I wasn’t even trying’ look. I decided to go for a slightly distressed pair so that the blazer is still the focal point. Linked below are some alternatives.

Now a lot of you are probably thinking, “where could I possibly wear this kind of outfit to?” Well the list is endless. I wore this to a birthday party and received a lot of compliments. You could also possibly switch up the heels for a pair of slides and wear it to brunch with your girls. This outfit is very versatile but would have heads turning!
