Styling on a budget: The £50 Challenge

img_1998

Hey beautiful people! 👋🏾 How have y’all been? How’s the year treating you so far? January has practically flown by so I guess we can say we’re on the right track. I don’t know if you guys remember this, it has been a while now, but back in September, I did a post called styling on the budget: online shopping like a pro. Styling on a budget is basically my baby 😭, it’s a part of my blog that I am so passionate about, as I don’t believe that you should have to spend an arm and a leg just to look good. So once in a while, I’ll have a couple “Styling on a budget” editions, giving you hints and tips on how to look good whilst saving your cointssss. Today, I bring you, the £50 challenge!!! Leggoo! 💃🏽

So the £50 challenge is basically what it says on the tin. I’ll be challenging myself to create a whole look at the costs £50 or less. On some occasions it might include the shoes and some occasions it might not, so we’re just gonna go with the flow yeah? Lmao! If certain items do make the look go over budget then I will include some alternatives which will fit perfectly into the budget. So now that we’ve got the rules out of the way, let the games begin!

You guys already know my love for blazers so when I came across this blazer set, I couldn’t pass up the chance to get my hands on them. Can you guys believe that this blazer set only cost me £30 and some change? Yes you heard right! The blazer and trousers cost me £30 altogether! If that’s not a bargain and then I don’t know what is! Unfortunately for me by the time I came across this blazer, my size was sold out but I decided to go 2 sizes up just to give that oversized, slouchy, laid back look. Very 90s chic!

Now that we have the blazer and trousers, what are we gonna wear underneath? Since the blazer is not very tailored to my body I decided to carry on with the slouchy look and go for a very laid-back inner wear. I’ve been loving stripes lately due to my current obsession with the 70s so I wanted to incorporate that into this look. This striped T-shirt only cost me £12! What can I say? I have the eye for a good bargain! 😁

So I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that my shoes only cost me £8, cos they didn’t looool. This is one of those occasions that we can make an exception. Be sure to check out the outfit details for an alternative pair.

I absolutely adore this look! Despite the fact that we didn’t spend a fortune, this looks still screams sophistication and expensive. The rust colour of the blazer gives a sense of class, while the yellow stripes, present a playful, relatable side. Effortless style and grace!
