Winter Trends In One Look

Hey you! Welcome back to the PW style lool I sound like a YouTuber when they say “welcome back to my channel” lmaoo but yeah welcome back, it’s been a minute since we’ve last seen each other!

So winter is slowly coming to an end, and the spring/summer baby in me is ecstatic about that! No matter how prepared I am, the cold always catches me unawares, but I’m not gonna complain because winter this year has definitely been bearable! So towards the end of summer last year, I did a whole look incorporating a lot of summer 2018 trends, so I thought, why not do one for winter 2019?

So without a doubt, I think we can all agree that winter style is much better than summer style. Well, at least that’s what I think. This winter has been filled with countless amounts of amazing trends that can easily elevate a basic look into a stylish one.

Checkered Pattern

The checkered trend is one that has been around for many years and always makes a guest appearance every winter. There’s something about the checkered pattern, that just brings a cosy, warm feeling. From tartan, to plaid to gingham to prince of Wales. Ohh Chile! The list of checkered patterns is endless. These checkered patterns are usually found on blazers and trousers but this winter, I’ve seen numerous checkered patterned puffer jackets, which I really love but not been brave enough to purchase. This look features a gun club check trousers, similar to the blazer in this post. As much as this is a trend, it is one that’ll never die, and would always be a classic, so don’t be afraid to hop on it.

Half Zip Funnel Neck Jumper

I really don’t know why it took me so long to get on the bandwagon but this is definitely one of my favourite pieces to see on a guy. And you know what they say, what a man can do a woman can do better! Loool The half zip jumper is great for layering up. You can keep the zip up or pull the zip down, exposing the round neck t-shirt or turtleneck worn underneath. You can even wear a blazer on top, for a casual blazer/turtleneck neck look. Be creative and have fun with it.

The borg/teddy coat material, is actually one of those trends that I initially wasn’t a big fan of. I thought it wasn’t going to be long lasting. So when it became popular last winter, I wasn’t too bothered to get involved. But for some reason, I really gravitated towards it this winter, I even got my hands on a teddy coat which I will be featuring in the next post, stay tuned for that. You might not be able to tell, but the jumper featured in this look, is actually borg material. Not only is it super comfy and warm, it is also very chic.

Oversized Puffer Jacket

Now if I start to tell you the struggles I faced trying to find the perfect puffer jacket, you’ll start feeling sorry for me. The amount of puffer jackets that I bought but returned because they just didn’t have the perfect fit. I even got a few of my friends to go on the hunt for me, as this was a trend I loved as soon as it came out and I wasn’t about to carry last. But eventually I stumbled across this puffer jacket and it was like love at first sight. It has the perfect level of oversizedness, slouchyness and care-freeness that I was after, so I had to make that purchase with a quickness. Looool

I have to give a quick shoutout to my mum for actually inspiring this post. She bought me the half zip borg jumper for Christmas and also bought me a checkered patterned trousers to wear with it, but it was too big so I switched it up with this one. Shoutout to my momma for knowing my style, she’s the real MVP!
